The sun diffused itself today.
Happy day beloved Joy Train Rider! I love you! Bless you. I trust you had an enjoyable and safe time since we rode together Friday.
It’s 6:55 a.m. here and already my mind is completely blown! Because this just happened:
All weekend the portentousness of today’s date was on my mind as the deadline for filing US federal tax is April 15. This creates anxiety bordering on panic for millions of people.
Compounding the level of anxiety, this day is historic as it marks the first time a person who was President of the United States will stand trial for criminal acts.
I planned to lay that out on today’s trip and point out that we are in control of our feelings so we can choose to shift from anxiety to acceptance and even love. I also planned to point out that there’s a whole other world going on that’s in perfect rhythm, carrying out the big processes of life unconcerned by our superficial traumas. It keeps us breathing, moving, thinking, digesting without conscious effort on our part.
Then, as I was listening to an episode of the spiritual empowerment series I practice, I heard these words, paraphrased:
“The collective is in fear, anxiety and worry that we’re putting out, just like Silly String flying out of the box. We can do our part by clearing what we are putting out there. . .”
Exactly. I will put out unequivocal, undiscriminating love for all the world and call for justice and balance to be the rule.
No sooner did I have that thought than I got a ping from our neighbor. I’d sent him an image of this spectacular bloom, the Century Palm which blooms once in its 80-100 year lifetime, letting him know I just learned it is currently blooming in Hope Botanical Gardens in Kingston. I told him we hoped to go today but rain is expected so we might put it off till tomorrow.
The incandescent Century Palm blooms as it’s dying or dies while it’s blooming depending on point of view.
