‘Overcome Evil With Good!’
Today’s Excess Gives Us Urgent Opportunity
I’m sending my energy to support our solar body as it experiences the Barbault Basket Effect this week.
Happiest day beloved Joy Train Rider! I love you! Bless you! I affirm we are getting better and better.
Imagine the level of personal peace one must cultivate today so as not to be “tossed and turned” by the flood of evil seemingly emanating from everywhere, especially the leadership of our country. ‘Evil’ is a word I’ve consciously avoided using in my adult life because it is the opposite of my focus - which is to manifest and share love, peace and joy.
But as my news feed is increasingly flooded with the word as a description of today’s governance, I felt it necessary to confront what it means.
“Evil broadly refers to profound immorality, wickedness, or the deliberate infliction of pain and suffering. It is generally seen as the opposite of good and encompasses everything from deeply malicious actions to the general presence of sorrow, suffering, and calamity,” Google returned.
So it is sadly appropriate. I think it’s important to identify it so that rather than being like “flotsam and jetsam” awash in it, we can choose to chart our course through the current into a stream of peace.
Like many people, I’m looking forward to a great leap forward in human consciousness that is predicted for this cosmic moment in time.
What if part of the evolution depends upon the extent to which we are able to counter rampant evil with good? I think it’s a logical extrapolation.
Practicing it in my life means keeping my focus on my identity as a child of the universe, and spending more time communing with my source than engaging with news of the nefarious. I appreciate that people need to inform us about what’s happening so that we can counter it but I know it does me no good to swim in it.
To mark my shift this weekend I gave up one habit that I enjoy but identify as a crutch I no longer need. So far, every time I’ve felt the desire I’ve used it as an opportunity to return my focus to my spiritual journey, the way some people use a rubber band to snap them back to mindfulness.
Also over the weekend I saw my favorite comedian Josh Johnson in a reel in which he shared that he had no idea we still had such a thing as “bison” until he saw the story of this frightening encounter in Yellowstone.
“I thought those things were gone, like the wooly mammoth,” he mused. “In fact if I’d seen that somewhere I’d want to call somebody and say, ‘you better come get your bear, cause it’s all messed up…’ “
This magnificent bison in Yellowstone has definitely not gone the way of the wooly mammoth snd is definitely not ‘ a messed up bear.’ Thank you Kevin Wade for allowing me to use your brilliant image.
