I could swear the sun is visibly farther south just one day after nuzzling Earth for a moment on the Solstice.
Happiest day, beloved Joy Train Rider! I love you! Bless you!
Thank you to those who’ve joined us as partners in the Transformational Tours of National Parks, and those who’ve pledged support. In Jamaica we say, “one one coco full basket,” meaning that if everyone puts something in, an empty basket becomes full. Please support the intention and be included in the history of those who helped make this big change in our country.
Celebrating the Solstice yesterday I read this description at New Earth One:
“The Solstice occurs when the sun ‘stands still’ between light and dark. It is the balance point of all creation. When the Solstice Gateway opens a direct path to the Great Central Sun, located at 27 degrees Sagittarius.…it opens a Cosmic Portal to zero point energy at the galactic center. The June Solstice in the northern hemisphere is the longest day of Light – the one day of the year that fully illuminates ‘Heaven on Earth’.”
It might sound hyperbolic, but it resonates in my mind. Not the least of my inspirations this month is the Netflix documentary series “Ancient Apocalypse” where “journalist Graham Hancock travels the globe hunting for evidence of mysterious, lost civilizations dating back to the last Ice Age.” Hancock has serious detractors: Archaeologists Ask Netflix to Reclassify Graham Hancock’s ‘Unfounded’ Netflix Docuseries ‘Ancient Apocalypse’ as Fiction.
Since this is an area in which I have no expertise and my perspective doesn’t affect outcomes for anyone else, I prefer to have the facts and make up my mind.
The most tactile and delicious experience of the week was when our friend Joy Train Rider Bethany Powell and Peter, her beloved, visited us Tuesday. As they live in the US I got up early and made several of our traditional dishes: ackee and saltfish (our national dish was recently named “Second Best National Dish in the World” by National Geographic;) fried dumplings and plantains, callaloo and roast breadfruit. We ate, drank sorrel and a Red Stripe beer while enjoying the lush setting, delighting in the woodpeckers, green parrots and white winged doves zooming around as we traveled down memory lane.
I got a huge surprise this morning when I read her blog describing the exhilarating experiences they had driving through the deep rural Jamaican countryside, absorbing the beauty and lushness, the sight of men riding donkeys on the way to their fields and women carrying baskets on their head; children eager to help the strangers. I traveled with them through every word. I know this trip will make your love juices flow.
Bethany and Peter were several years behind me in high school.
