I didn’t stop trying to share the video I cited in the Joy Train Wednesday. Taken by our friend Theresa Pierno, President and CEO of the National Parks Conservation Association in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska, last week, she said the bears sat hugging for about 30 minutes as visitors watched in awe.
(The organization gave me their Centennial Leadership Award last April in recognition of decades of volunteer activism on behalf of the parks and people.) Our tech savvy grandson Yero Winborne converted the video to so I’m able to share it with Theresa’s permission.
The point is, if grizzly bears can be loving to each other, certainly humans - and yes, Americans - can show more love and acceptance to each other?
