Grand Canyon Visit Yields New Tech Initiative
'Those Colors Are REAL?!
Geotecture Founder and Chief Vision Officer Alyssa Combs devised the Advocacy Tool, “Advocasee” to help engage communities with our natural treasures.
Happiest day beloved Joy Train Rider! I love you! Bless you! I affirm you’re doing well. We’re praying for our Gullah-Geechee brothers and sisters involved in the tragedy of Sapelo Island over the weekend. Gullah-Geechee Queen Quet, a member of the Diverse Environmental Leaders Speakers Bureau, made an impassioned statement. Let’s help them all we can.
We are indescribably grateful to our partners that make the Transformational Tour of National Parks for Influencers in the Conservation and Environmental Justice Sectors possible: They include our Beacon Partner, the National Wildlife Federation’s Environmental Justice Program; The National Parks Conservation Association; Edaren Foundation and former National Park Service Director Robert G. Stanton.
Our tour of the Grand Canyon National Park has already inspired a breakthrough in technology. Influencer Alyssa Combs, founder of Geotecture was inspired to create an immersive tour while Facetiming with her Mom from the park. .Alyssa launched the tool in her blog, explaining its inception:
“The Grand Canyon Advocasee Tool Brought My Mom To Tears.
“I was able to witness the power of this tool first hand as I shared the Grand Canyon Immersive tour with my mom. As an woman of color who is also disabled, she has never been to the Grand Canyon. She mentioned that she believed that pictures that she had seen were "doctored up," to show the amazing color presented.
“While exploring the immersive tour, she was able to witness a few of the amazing spots the group of explorers visited. She also was able to navigate to informational points and submerge herself in the views.
